The Village Barn December 2011 Art Exhibition

Bill Schleif

“I live in the village of Tylersport, Pennsylvania, located north of Philadelphia (south of Quakertown). I was a scientist for Merck Research Laboratories for 25 years. Since retirement I am a full time woodturner working with many local woods and some exotics. I turn many different forms but my main passion is for art forms rather than utilitarian forms. My work has been displayed at the Harford Fair in Susquehanna County Pennsylvania, the Tylersport Carvers and Turners show and at Green Wolfs Village Barn Shops in Skippack, Pennsylvania. I am the current president of the Lehigh Valley Woodturners and a member of the American Association of Woodturners.” – Bill Schlief

Bill has been turning wood since the mid-sixties  He finds wood “a wonderful and very relaxing medium” and has studied the art of woodturning with various well-known artists such as David Ellsworth, Bill Grumbine, Mike Kehs and others.

We are excited to be hosting Bill again for our third installment of our Featured Monthly Art Exhibition season and invite you to share in our love of art and design by stopping in this December to meet Bill and learn more about his exquisite craftsmanship and style.

Opening Reception:  December 9, 2011, 5 - 9pm
