Celebrate holidays at Green Wolf's Village Barn Shoppes during Illuminaire Nights held every Friday, November 25 – December 23 in historic Skippack Village. Visitors can enjoy complementary holiday refreshments during an evening set aglow with candles and lights. Shops open till 9pm!

Begin the evening at Cardinal Hollow Winery and sip-n-sample over thirty varieties of handcrafted wines created by local winemaker Chris Boyd.

Then peruse the vast collection of work by over forty local artisans found at Green Wolf’s – Elegant Junque, offering shoppers that special one-of-kind gift for the holidays.

At Jason Diliberto Photography, capture that special moment in time with an impromptu holiday portrait by resident fine photographer Jason Diliberto. Customers get to walk away with their images that night!

Have you heard the news? The Village Barn has a new resident artist Kristine Backes of Tinken Jewelry, a working studio and gallery specializing in fine gold, platinum, and silver jewelry.

From the world of nationally renowned artist Toni Wolf, Wolf invites you to explore the latest in her series of paintings of botanicals and butterflies on salvaged cheeseboards, in addition to vintage car portraits, and more, fantastic gifts for the holidays.

Finally, Green Wolf’s Village Barn Shoppes concludes its 2016 art exhibition series with local classic illustrator Brigida Michopulos. “Michopulos’s vivid imagination, meticulous attention to detail and strong architectural background are prevalent in every piece she creates. The wildlife characters she brings to life dance within the rich forest of colors and viewers young and old cannot help but to be immersed into her world of fantasy.” Show Dates: December 9, 2016 - January 8, 2017.

About

Brigida Michopulos, was born into a family of musicians.  In 1990, she received her diploma at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tirana and worked for an Italian architectural firm, 1990 – 2001, specializing in urban renewal projects.  As a staff employee for planning committees and public architecture offices in various Italian cities, Brigida has participated in numerous competitions in architecture projects and painting exhibits in oil and tempera from 2001 – 2011.

In 2000, Brigida moved to the United States where she joined the distinguished firm of Steven Ware Architects, located in Montgomery County Pennsylvania, specializing in the 18th -19th century American biangular Architecture of the Mid-Atlantic Region as an Architectural illustrator.

Brigida’s vivid imagination, meticulous attention to detail and strong architectural background are prevalent in every piece she creates.  The wildlife characters she brings to life dance within the rich forest of colors and viewers young and old cannot help but to be immersed into her world of fantasy.

From a classical charcoal drawing, the soft gradations of light and dark are brought to life as Brigida builds upon the many sheer layers taking each piece deep into the oil realms to produce paintings that are captivating.

“I was born and raised in Hungary. In 1965 I moved to the United States. 

I always enjoyed art and I dreamed that someday I would paint. Finally in 1984 my dream came thru and I created my first painting. I never painted before and the painting was primitive but I loved it and I was hooked. I poured over art books, took workshops from prominent locally and nationally known artists, and I never stopped painting. A few years later I quit my career as an accountant to become a full time artist. 

Painting opened my eyes to the beauty of God’s creation and that is what I strive to reflect in my paintings. I enjoy painting portraits and capturing the very essence of each person. Still life gives me the opportunity to create beautiful compositions with fruit and flowers. Landscapes and cityscapes give me the opportunity to capture the memories of special places I visited in the past. Every painting gives me a unique challenge and fulfillment.

“I have a BFA in fashion illustration from Moore College of Art in Philadelphia and am a signature member of the following watercolor societies:  PWCS, PWS, BWS and AWS.  I have illustrated children’s books, have won various awards in local and national watercolor exhibitions and was recently featured in an 8-page article in American Artist Magazine.  I also belong to several art leagues and groups, and currently volunteer as newsletter editor for the Greater Norristown Art League.  I am represented in art galleries in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

That is one part of my make-up as an artist.

Another part is the continuous appreciation and education of the art world.  Its source comes from personal experimentation, diversity of venues, commission work and most importantly from the community and family of my fellow artists that keep me refreshed, replenished, and energized.” – Susan Hart Thomer

44th Annual Skippack Days Arts and Crafts Festival: OCT 1st and 2nd (Rain or Shine)

Skippack Days Arts and Crafts Festival, one of Greater Philadelphia's most anticipated fall festivals of the year, is held annually during the first weekend in October now celebrates its 44th year.

Green Wolf’s Village Barn Shoppes, one of several Skippack Village proprietors who participate in the collaboration and production of this event, welcomes visitors young and old for a weekend of cultural arts and fall crafts. From handmade jewelry to crafted furniture and décor, stop out and meet artisans from the surrounding region who will be exhibiting their one-of-a-kind creations at select locations within this picturesque village, conveniently located in central Montgomery County Pennsylvania.
